Alejandro Benitez · EIT — Electrical Engineer in Training
STATUS: still into gradients.
// 01 · about
I'm Alex — Alejandro Benitez. I'm an electrical engineer in training (EIT) who works on the interesting intersection of power electronics, embedded systems, and things with wheels. By day it's circuit boards, CAN buses, and battery math; by evening it's soldering stations, 2 m antennas, and whatever project is currently upside down in the garage.
This site is a continuation of my old personal page from ~20 years ago — same person, newer decade. The music I made as a kid lives here too, under its own roof. More on that when you scroll to the bottom.

| origin story | A friend of mine — also named Alex (Estrada) — helped me set up my first account. His in-game display name was “Ladref”, so he coined ladrefino101 for me on the spot. |

Embedded C, implementing custom CAN interfaces, power electronics — and enough multimeter hours to be dangerous. Current featured build:
// 03 · amateur radio
Amateur radio is where the engineering hobby and the tinkerer in me collide hardest: antennas on roofs, radios that need coax before breakfast, and a worldwide community that treats "73" like a handshake.
// 04 · garage
A classic hardtop truck that still runs on a carburetor. The plan: full conversion to electronic fuel injection for driveability, cold starts, and hill climbs without the choke dance.
A full camper conversion: new carpet, dinette cushions, a proper sound system, and a real shower with hot water — powered entirely by the sun and a lithium bank.
// 05 · the archives
I started making music around age 12 and dropped albums for about a decade, releasing under the name Aenite (and a few other handles you'd find on old Bandcamp diggs). It all still lives here — self-hosted, playable, no redirects. Buy what you like on Bandcamp if it brings you joy.
